umm really, you have to give them all of your info so you can opt out??? what about just opting out by not giving them anything?? I have all my privacy settings on facebook maxed out. only my friends see what I post and if you happen to be able to spell my name, you can see a generic photo i posted as my profile, and maybe what city i live in.

Please be aware that they could use your opt-out information for even worse things - e.g. if you click the "unsubscribe" link on spam mail, that only confirms to them that your email address is live and checked regularly, so they can send you more spam and sell your address for more money. As with firewalls, "play dead" is maybe the best solution :)

people should practice some cellphone and texting ethics. By which this could also cause us misinformation and misunderstanding of the message. Especially if we are not familiar with this kind of text and would end up confused.

I could not agree more! When writing emails, I make sure I use the full word "thank you" or "thanks". It seems so rude just to type "TX" when there is no character limit. Using "TX" can be justifiable if there is character limit like Twitter.

Thank you for this post! :-) I wholeheartedly agree, and this is just another aspect of my steadfast belief that abbreviations should be avoided, even in constricted settings such as Twitter. Proper writing and clear communication shouldn't be dropped simply because the medium has changed.

Great interview Dr. Samuels, really valuable information for executive teams out there on the importance of social media in the Enterprise.

Once thing I noticed in your interview (something I am guilty of as well - but now catch myself) is you prefixed a number of your answers with "I think..." when in fact, based on your WSJ article and past education in that area, have done quite a bit of research on the topic of social media.

Anyway, it would be a much more powerful and authoritative response if you remove those two words vs Anyway, I think it it would be a much more powerful and authoritative response if you removed those two words :)
