Thanks for putting this list together Alex. In planning the first Ignite Bay Area | Women Innovators event last year, we looked to create a platform for both seasoned and newer female speakers, and the level of interest encouraged us to open our March event up to men and women presenters.

Please let me know if I can help in discussing content, community, PR, and ad networks for SXSWi, either on behalf of Federated Media, Women 2.0 or @IgniteBayArea.

I'm beyond thrilled to see so many great women adding their names, suggestions or encouragement here. Thank you all so much, and keep it coming!

I also want to echo Kaliya's point about the great work that SXSW has done to diversify the panel line-up. I see WAY more women speakers and women-led panels in the line-up for this year compared to my previous SXSW experience in 2006. And I think Kaliya sets a great goal: how about aiming for diversity on every panel?

Alex --
Thanks for bringing attention to this topic! You're right -- most of the conferences I attend (finance and tech) are dominated by all-male panels.

I love it when I get a chance to break things up.

I'm the editor of Hypergrid Business (http://www.hypergridbusiness.com) which is an online publication focusing on the enterprise uses of immersive virtual worlds. I love to speak about the topic of how immersive technology will change the way we do business -- and how it will offer opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors.

I'm also the COO of the China Speakers Bureau, and an editor and a contributor to "A Changing China," a book about the recent economic changes in China, where I was a bureau chief for the past five years. While in China, I also served as the president of the Shanghai Entrepreneur Group for a year, so I can speak about entrepreneurship in China.

Best,
Maria

Great idea! I'm an Austinite, so no travel necessary if someone would like to have me join their panel. (no badge currently, though, so might need that)

I'm an accredited business communicator with depth in corporate communications, but some areas that might be of particular SXSWi interest include:
>virtual worlds for business - http://www.slideshare.net/LPTslideshare
>virtual worlds for kids - http://laurapthomas.x.iabc.com/kids-virtual-worlds-series/
>corporate web sites - http://content.dell.com/us/en/corp/about-dell.aspx
>personal v. employer branding
>using social media for investor relations
>corporate use of Facebook and/or Twitter
>challenges of a global websites (translation/localization/etc)

I'm almost always on Twitter as @LPT, and my bio has a few others places to connect with me: http://www.laurapthomas.com

Absolutely fabulous idea. I love how hard SXSW works at making panel diversity real, and this is a smart way to make it easier for panel organizers. One of my proposals is still in the ring, and I've been a panelist in 2008 and panel organizer in 2009.

Issues I Pay Attention To:
    * Sustainability in general, and especially around food and/or the ocean
    * Scaling social change
    * How to share data well, and why #opendata
    * Trust and authenticity
    * Values inherent in social software platforms
    * Stewardship of objects and material culture
    * Education
    * Lengthening our cultural time horizons, a la Long Now
    * Social entrepreneurs building location-based and map tools

Tools I Pay Attention To:
    * Tools for knowledge managment in distributed value networks
    * Tools for empowering communications, currently called social media
    * Tools for scaling social change
    * P2P and mobile fundraising tools and ethics
    * Tools for building communities based on authentic communications
