I'm sorry you're having trouble with your PubSub subscriptions. Given that you posted your note on Monday, I'm guessing that you did your testing over the weekend. Unfortunately, as was posted on our home page, PubSub moved its servers from one colocation facility to another over the weekend and, as announced, our service was very much reduced on Saturday and Sunday. I think that if you take a look at your results now that we've finished the move, you'll be more pleased. If not, please send me an email and we'll figure out what is wrong.

One of the more effective ways to use PubSub is to search for web addresses (a.k.a. Universal Resource Indicators -- URIs) directly. There are a few tricks to setting up an effective search.

1) to click on weblogs for the subscription type AND check off the "Include High-Volume..." -- if you subscribe directly from the front page, it automatically filters that stuff

2) ask for people to link to the site directly, then search for the URI. There is actually an entire advanced search help page -- you want an advanced search something like: URI:capetown.telecentre.org OR (capetown AND (telecentre OR telecentre.org)) OR capetowntelecentre

Quotations shouldn't matter. Basically, URI's are the best and most effective way, since people usually link to the site they're talking about.
